The corner shop that actually stays open. Papers before work, a meal deal at
noon, a parcel drop on the way home, a lottery ticket on Saturday.
Newsagent
National and local papers in every morning, seven days. The full magazine
wall — motoring, women's weeklies, puzzles, football. Ask about a standing
order and we'll put your paper by under your name.
Papers we carry 11
- The Sun
- Daily Mail
- Daily Mirror
- Metro
- Daily Star
- Daily Express
- The Times
- The Telegraph
- The Guardian
- i
- Manchester Evening News
All confirmed by the shop. Titles change from time to time — if one
comes off the shelves this is the line to update.
Convenience Store
Bread, milk, eggs, tinned goods, cleaning bits and the thing you forgot.
Priced to be worth the walk rather than punished for the convenience.
Off Licence
Beers, wines and spirits, chilled cabinet included. Challenge 25 — if you
look under 25 we'll ask for ID, and we'd rather ask than not.
Beers & wines 25
- Corona
- San Miguel
- Foster's
- Peroni Nastro Azzurro
- La Vieille Ferme
- Carlsberg Pilsner
- Kronenbourg 1664
- Strongbow Original
- 19 Crimes
- Trivento Reserve
- Isla Negra Seashore
Confirmed by the shop. The twenty-five are Britain's best-selling beers,
ciders and wines — NIQ, 52 weeks to 21 March 2026 — which is how the list
was drawn up rather than a claim in itself. Six carry their own mark so
far, each taken from the brand owner's own site; the rest are names until
their artwork can be got hold of the same way.
Over 18s only, Challenge 25 in force. Drink sensibly —
drinkaware.co.uk.
Vapes / Tobacco
Disposables, pod kits, refills and coils, plus rolling tobacco and papers.
Over 18s only, ID required.
Cigarettes
Full range behind the counter. Over 18s only, ID required — no exceptions,
not even for a regular.
Coffee / Drinks
Machine coffee poured to go from six in the morning. Cold cabinet of soft
drinks, energy, juice and water, kept properly cold.
Sandwiches
Made up fresh each morning — sandwiches, wraps, rolls, pasties. Grab one
with a drink and a snack and it's a meal deal.
Confectionery
The full wall of it. Sharing bags, single bars, kids' pick-and-mix, crisps
and nuts, and the boxed stuff when you've forgotten an occasion.
Pay Point / Parcels
Top up gas and electric, pay your phone, water, council and TV bills, and
withdraw cash. Collect+ parcel point for drop-off and pick-up — bring the
QR code on your phone, no printer needed.
Parcel carriers 12
All twelve, confirmed by the shop. Most are from PayPoint's own media
library, so they are the versions PayPoint itself publishes rather than a
scrape from twelve different places. Note Yodel now trades as
Yodel by InPost — that is their current lockup, not a mistake.
Relay, which was asked about, is not a Collect+ carrier.
Bills & top-ups 7
Energy top-ups — gas meters & electric keys
Utility bills
Mobile top-ups
TV Licence
DVLA International Driving Permits
Park Christmas Savings
Payment Exception Service
PayPoint publishes the service types but not a list of named suppliers,
so none are named here. If you want "we take British Gas, EON, United
Utilities" on the page, that has to come from the shop's own terminal.
Cash in store 4

Cash machine in store
Both a cash machine and cash over the counter, so there is a way to get
cash even when one of them is empty or down. Withdrawal and deposit limits
vary by store and by bank — worth stating this shop's own once you have
them, since it is the question people ring up to ask.
Gift cards & vouchers 13
National Lottery
Lotto, EuroMillions, Thunderball, Set For Life and scratchcards. Claim small
prizes over the counter. Over 18s only.

Ticket sales close at 19:30 on a draw night — three hours before the shop
does, which is the one thing worth saying out loud here. Line prices are
the Lottery's own and do not change. Tonight's jackpot does, so it is not
printed here and these do not link out — buy your ticket over the counter
and the shop keeps the commission.
